A NEW CHALLENGE - It seems as if my life is about challenging myself, whether it is going to Airborne school and learning to jump out of a "perfectly good airplane" or whether it is entering a beauty pageant or running in a road race. I told myself that I was done with running marathons; Portland in 2001, Country Music in 2004. But here they come with the Inaugural Eugene Marathon, right here in "Track Town USA", how can I not run? I told myself that running and mostly the training for a marathon was too hard on my body, mostly my knees. But now that I have lost 27 pounds (still fight to lose those last 3 lbs), I feel so good, I am in the best shape of my life, my running is so much easier and faster, how can I not run? So I have signed up to run with a group that is training for the Eugene Marathon 29 April 2007. I am working for a personal best being that I ran the Country Music Marathon in 5 and 1/3 hours, that should not be hard to do! http://www.eugenemarathon.com/

You will do great and I bet you will get a personal best. What I'd like to see is that out of shape husband of yours trying to do even a 1/4 of marathon. We'd probably find his carcass on the side of the road.
